We used [import] for the mrpeach externals for OSC. So either you have to use pd-extended or add yourself the mrpeach externals.





And this is a patch to send OSC to Vavdo’s RGB LEDs. Interesting stuff may come if you include metros or dependencies from knob’s & buttons or by automating functions and patterns.

This subtractive synthesis patch is from the synthware series which are designed to be used with Vavdo Alpha Controllers or any other osc controller. One bandpass filter is used in this patch where it's frequency is modulated by two parallel LFOs. The interesting part is the slightly complex timbre that the lfos produce by modulating the center frequency of the filter. The user can alter the width of this mod and the two lfo rates from the left hand and the frequency, the bandwidth, and amplitude of the filter from the right hand. The audio input also can be set from the GUI, to white noise, pink noise, computer audio input or a sound file. Lastly there is a record button to easily record your improvisation in a sound file for further editing.

Subtractive sound synthesis is the opposite of additive synthesis. Despite adding simple sound sources such as sine oscillators, in subtractive synthesis, a complex(harmonically rich) sound source is filtered out by simple or more intellectual filters. Is like a sculpture where the artist removes unneeded material to go to a desired form. Years after the first experiments of 50s & 60s, subtractive sound synthesis was widely used in compact and modular analog synthesizers. In present time there are numerous examples and researches about new and more advanced techniques.

Subtractive bands is a software sound synthesizer that is designed to be used with Vavdo Alpha Controllers.It is a simple example, using just two parallel band-pass filters with their parameters mapped to vavdo physical interface knobs, allowing musically interesting improvisations.

For those who do not own a Vavdo controller, this synth is fully playable through it’s gui or through any external midi or osc controller. Subtractive Bands is programmed in Max/MSP and the patch is unlocked for those who like to edit it or use it in another project. Also because Windows version is not fully tested, minor changes may needed in order to run this mini synthware.

From the gui or from an external device, the user can alter the frequency, the bandwidth, and the amplitude of each filter.
